Foundation
Block for 4-Poster Test System
Usually
a 4-Poster foundation block is designed with a walk way in
the middle to have access to the cars underbody to visually
look for fatigue or other failures occuring during the test.
The seismic mass can either rest on air springs as shown or
on a gravel bed without any vibration isolation.
In
most 4-Poster applications the concrete block is covered with
cast iron floor plates.
X-Y
positioning systems make it convenient to adjust for different
track widths and wheel bases to accomodate a large variaty
of different cars. A steel floor
cover is often used to drive onto the test system.
