Schiller developed a new membrane air spring
series type MAS suited for low dynamic vibration
isolation application like:

Transmission Test Beds
-
Electron Microscopes
-
Manufacturing Machines
-
Laser technical systems
A
membrane air spring uses a defined air volume sealed
with a rubber membrane. Increasing the pressure
in the spring increases the force on the membrane.
As soon as the force of the spring is larger than
the mass it supports the mass will lift of. The
membrane will have a spherical shape increasing
with the pressure applied. A Level Controller regulates
the height of the spring respective the membrane.
The advantage of the membrane air spring is it's
stiffness in horizontal direction, its adjustable
air damping as well as it's attractive price.
